This website is operated by Joanne Balchin, trading as Untye, a sole-trader consultancy based in Bristol, United Kingdom.

This policy explains how Untye collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit our website at www.untye.co.uk or get in touch with us about our services.

What personal data we collect

We may collect:

Information you provide directly: your name, email address, company name and any details you include when you fill in our contact form, book a call, sign up for our newsletter or email us.
Information collected automatically: technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and time spent on the site, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
Information from third-party tools: if you book a call via [Cal.com / Calendly / etc.], that platform may collect additional information under its own privacy policy.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.
Client data: for the duration of our engagement and for 7 years after, to meet HMRC and contractual obligations.
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
Website analytics data: anonymised after 14 months.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the business, all of whom act as data processors on our behalf and are bound by data protection agreements:

We may also disclose information if required by law (for example, in response to a court order or HMRC request).

International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards in UK GDPR — either an adequacy decision (EU/EEA, USA under the Data Privacy Framework) or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on tools we use, and regular review of our suppliers. No system is 100% secure, but we treat data protection seriously and will notify you and the ICO of any breach affecting your rights within 72 hours.
